Public Voting Stage Complete

April 28, 2026

Public voting for the School Sustainability and Resilience Fund (SSRF) 2026 has now wrapped up – and what an amazing response from the community!

Over four weeks, 896 people got involved, casting 7,759 votes to support their favourite projects. From edible gardens and native planting to water conservation and climate action, the range of ideas shows just how passionate our communities are about building a more sustainable future.

The strong turnout means local voices have helped shape how the fund will be invested, backing the projects that matter most. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and support these inspiring initiatives!

What happens next?

Projects that didn’t receive enough votes in the public voting stage will now move into the next phase — the Youth Panel vote.

A panel of 16 young people from across the Bay of Plenty will come together online to review these applications, share their perspectives, and decide which projects they’d like to support.
