Let's keep the Bay of Plenty Kauri dieback-free

Kauri are the kings of the forest and one of Aotearoa’s unique taonga. In the Bay of Plenty, there has been no Kauri dieback detected to date and we need your help to keep it that way.

First we need to know where they are growing (and thriving). From 1 August to 30 September we held the Great Kauri Count across the Bay of Plenty excluding the Kaimai Mamaku’s.

A huge mihi to everyone who dropped pins on the map, uploaded photos and helped us to better understand the locations and health of this precious taonga species.
