Bay Say Underway for May

7 May 2026

This month, we're taking our Bay Say residents survey out to a community event near you.

On Saturday 2 May, we were set up at the Tauranga Farmers Market, where more than 100 locals stopped by to share their views through the survey. With Pollution Response as our focus topic, we had local water samples on display and knowledgeable staff ready to chat about spray drift, effluent treatment, dust, and water contamination. To say thanks, we also gave away native plants to the first 50 people who completed the survey.

The conversation continues next Friday afternoon (15 May) at the Tauranga Hockey Centre in Mount Maunganui, from 4pm. Come along, complete a survey, and talk with the team about our 24/7 Pollution Hotline and how we respond to pollution incidents across the region.

All surveys completed before 31 May go in the draw to win one of three $100 Prezzy Cards.

We’ll share a summary of the Bay Say results online, with detailed feedback also helping inform council teams as we work to improve the mahi we do for our community and environment.
